The NWA Worlds Junior Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Bantamweight and Welterweight Championships

TITLE SNIPPET #1: NWA WORLDS JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT, WORLDS LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT, WORLDS MIDDLEWEIGHT, WORLDS BANTAMWEIGHT and WORLDS WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS

I’m cataloguing photos in one spot of every NWA title belt (and the multiple versions of each one) that I can find, including World, national and regional. There are hundreds of them that were recognized at one time or another by the NWA, so it’s a labour of love, and I’ll share that link in a little while when it’s more populated. In the meantime... here’s a little taste of history.

Did you know that in addition to the Worlds Heavyweight Championship, the NWA also recognized a Worlds Junior Heavyweight, Worlds Light Heavyweight, Worlds Middleweight, Worlds Bantamweight and Worlds Welterweight Championship (the last of which is depicted below)? They all followed the “Domed Globe” style made famous by the Ten Pounds of Gold artist Manuel Sabala, with this one used by the CMLL Mexican promotion (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre) since 1946. The titles were eventually turned over to NWA Mexico many decades after their debut.
